Teaching / Work Experience
Dr. A. Theja Reddy is the Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at TKR College of Engineering and Technology (Autonomous), Hyderabad. He has over 18 years of teaching, research, and academic administrative experience in Electronics and Communication Engineering. He obtained his Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Patna, in 2024, specializing in VLSI Design. His research focused on Tunnel Field Effect Transistor (TFET)-based biosensors, semiconductor device modeling, hardware security, and device reliability.
Dr. Theja Reddy serves as the Principal Investigator (PI) of the Chip to Startup (C2S) Programme, a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, at TKRCET. Under this programme, he is leading the establishment of advanced semiconductor design infrastructure, enabling industry-standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, and promoting VLSI education, chip design, and semiconductor research through faculty development programmes, workshops, and student innovation activities.
Before assuming the role of Head of the Department, he served as the Associate Dean – Research & Development, where he played a key role in promoting research publications, patents, funded research proposals, innovation, and industry-academia collaborations. He has published several research papers in reputed SCI and Scopus-indexed journals, presented papers at international conferences, authored book chapters, and holds a granted Indian Patent (IN548148) titled "Heterojunction Vertical TFET Based Electrolyte pH Sensor." His research interests include Analog and Digital VLSI Design, Low-Power VLSI, Semiconductor Device Modeling, TFET-Based Biosensors, Nanoelectronics, Hardware Security, Artificial Intelligence for Semiconductor Devices, Embedded Systems, and IoT.
A strong advocate of technical excellence, he has qualified the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) ten times and UGC-NET, demonstrating his strong technical foundation and commitment to continuous learning. He is recognized for his expertise in VLSI Design, Analog VLSI, semiconductor devices, and engineering education, and actively mentors students and faculty in research, innovation, and emerging semiconductor technologies.
